Features
Everything a play place runs on, in one system.
The counter, the floor, parties, classes, memberships and messages share one set of families, waivers and care profiles. Here’s all of it.
Front desk
Counter & POS
One screen sells everything: admissions, memberships, party deposits, socks, snacks, coffee and extensions share one cart and one payment.
- Admission products you define: a 1-hour pass and an all-day pass side by side, priced by each child’s age.
- Retail and café items as tiles, with barcode scanning and a low-stock warning.
- Discounts by line or order, codes, member pricing and loyalty rewards; staff overrides record a reason.
- Card on a Stripe reader with an optional tip prompt, card on file, cash, or split across them.
- Hand the iPad to a parent: a locked, large-type view, one question per screen, for their details, children, emergency contact and signatures.
- Or text them a sign-up link: they fill everything in on their own phone, including card on file, and you watch it complete on the household card.
- Receipts by email or text; refunds by line, back to the card or in cash.
Visit timers
Every admission starts a timer. The live floor shows every child sorted by time left, coloured as it runs down.
- Alerts five minutes before time’s up, at time, and when a visit runs over your grace period.
- An optional text to the family when time’s nearly up.
- Extend in two taps: the extension is sold on the same screen.
- All-day passes end at close, from your opening hours and holiday overrides.
- Check out from the floor view; actual visit length feeds occupancy and reports.
- Updates live, so a second screen behind the counter stays in sync.
Care profiles
Every child gets a care profile from the moment they’re added. Staff see a care alert on the counter, the live floor and the class roll call.
- Allergies with severity, medical conditions and medications, and an emergency plan.
- Diet, sensory needs and what helps the child calm down.
- How they communicate, including AAC and sign; mobility aids; wandering risk; toileting support.
- What they love doing, so staff can connect from the first minute.
- A briefing at the start of a visit and at every class drop-off, safety items first. Parents confirm nothing has changed; staff acknowledge.
- Emergency contacts must be a different person from the main contact; Jumpstead checks.
Check-in
One check-in for every route in: a keychain, an NFC fob or a quick search. The same checks run every time.
- Scan a QR keychain with the iPad camera or any USB or Bluetooth scanner, tap an NFC fob, or look up by phone, email, surname or a child’s name.
- Print keychain cards at the counter, or a stack ahead of time that’s handed out on first scan.
- Checks membership status, visits left this period and each child’s waiver.
- Partial check-in: children who are good to go go in; anyone blocked shows why and what fixes it.
- Set a capacity cap and Jumpstead holds the door at your limit.
- A self check-in kiosk on a second iPad: members scan in, and staff only hear about the exceptions.
Waivers
A waiver is a signed record against one version of your template, attached to the child, with an expiry.
- Write your own with merge fields like the child’s name, or start from the included templates: liability, photo release, medical disclosure and pickup authorization.
- Signed on the counter iPad, from a text or email link on the parent’s own phone, or on your website before they book.
- Per child or per household; you choose which forms visits, classes, parties and memberships need.
- Version your template and choose whether existing signers must re-sign.
- Expiry reminders 14 days ahead, with the re-sign link.
- A missing or expired waiver blocks only that child, and opens signing on the spot.
- Each signed record keeps the exact wording, version and signature. Unlimited signatures, no per-waiver fees.
Bookings
Parties & events
Party rooms, private events and whole-venue buyouts, with the deposit taken at booking and the balance chased for you.
- Book a room plus optional floor time at the counter, or let families book online with a deposit.
- Deposits as a fixed amount or a percentage; your cancellation window decides refund or forfeit, with an option to keep it as credit.
- Add-ons like pizza, an extra hour or favour bags go on the party order; physical add-ons come out of stock.
- Each party has its own page: guest families use its link or QR code to sign their waivers.
- Balance reminders by email and text 7 days and 48 hours before, and any unpaid balance shows on the counter on the day.
- Whole-venue buyout requests from your website arrive for you to confirm, then the deposit link goes out.
Classes & drop-off
Weekly classes and supervised drop-off, with the care briefing at hand-over and pickup only by adults the family approved.
- Classes as a series, like Tuesdays at 10 for eight weeks, with age range, capacity, instructor, room and price per session or per series.
- Enrollment at the counter or online; drop-ins if you allow them.
- A waitlist that promotes automatically and texts the family when a seat opens.
- Roll call on the iPad: present, absent, late, plus drop-off notes.
- Pickup by an approved adult only, with their photo and pickup PIN; anyone else needs a manager override with a reason. Every pickup is logged.
- Reminders 24 hours and 1 hour before each session; cancellation notices by text and email.
Calendar & spaces
Every room, zone and the whole venue on one calendar, with clashes stopped before they happen.
- Map your venue: rooms, zones and sub-areas, each with capacity, cleanup buffers and its own hours.
- Book the whole venue and everything inside it is blocked; book a room and the floor knows.
- Day, week and space-lane views. Drag to move, resize to extend, colour by booking type.
- A clash shows who’s in the way and offers the next free slot. Paid bookings are never overridden.
- Weekly series edit one session, this and future, or all, with any clashes listed first.
- Online bookings hold their slot for 10 minutes while the family pays, so nobody double-books.
Online booking & API
Take bookings on your own website, with no marketplace in between. Your site talks to Jumpstead through a public booking API.
- Show admissions, classes with seats left, party availability and membership plans on your site.
- Families book parties with a deposit, enroll in classes (or join the waitlist) and sign up for memberships, paying by Stripe Checkout.
- Waivers signed on your site before they book, and a sign-in link where families see their own bookings, visits and balances.
- Outbound webhooks tell your site when a class is published, changed or a session is cancelled, so listings stay current.
- OpenAPI docs and a TypeScript client for whoever builds your website. Per-venue API keys you can rotate.
Families
Memberships
Stripe Billing handles the money; Jumpstead handles the membership, and makes problems visible at the counter.
- Plans with price, interval, included children, visits per period, guest passes, perks, initiation fee and minimum term.
- Design the plan and see the exact card staff and families will see.
- Sign up at the counter, from a text link, or online from your website.
- Failed payments start a follow-up sequence by email and text with a pay link, and a past-due banner at check-in.
- Freeze, cancel at period end or now, and reactivate, all from the household card.
- A Members screen with active members, monthly recurring revenue, churn, past-due and upcoming renewals.
- Member discounts apply automatically at the counter.
Texts & email
Every message comes from your venue’s own number and email address, and every send, open, click and reply is tracked in one place.
- Automatic messages: receipts, time-nearly-up texts, membership welcome, sign-up and waiver links, payment follow-ups, booking confirmations, balance due, class reminders, waitlist seats and pickup confirmations.
- Campaigns to your own families: filter by membership, last visit, children’s ages, class history or loyalty tier, and save the segment.
- Email with a preview, or text with a character counter and short links. Send now or schedule.
- Results per campaign: delivered, bounced, opened, clicked, unsubscribed and replies.
- Quiet hours, a cap of one marketing text per family per week, and opt-outs honoured automatically.
Loyalty
Points that families earn without a punch card, and rewards they redeem right at the counter.
- Earn by spend (admissions can earn more than retail), per visit, per class, plus birthday, referral and sign-up bonuses.
- Member multipliers, and optional Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers with their own perks.
- A reward catalogue: a free hour of play, money off retail, a free party add-on or class session.
- Redeem at the counter or online. The QR keychain doubles as the loyalty card.
- Points expire after inactivity you set, with a warning email first.
The business
Inventory
Socks, snacks, drinks, merch and party add-ons, with a stock ledger that never blocks a sale.
- Items with SKUs, barcodes, variants like size and colour, cost, price, reorder point and supplier.
- Every sale, return, delivery, count and transfer is recorded, so stock on hand is always explained.
- Low-stock warnings at the counter; selling past zero is flagged, not blocked.
- Count sheets by category with a variance report and a one-tap correction.
- Reports: sales by item, margin, stock value and a reorder list.
Reports & exports
The numbers an owner actually checks, and a CSV of any of them.
- Memberships: active members, monthly recurring revenue, churn by month, past-due, renewals and plan mix.
- Sales and stock: sales by item and period, margin, stock value, reorder list.
- Loyalty: points issued and redeemed, outstanding liability, top families, redemption by reward.
- Campaign results, and every report exports to CSV for your accountant or spreadsheet.
Multiple locations
Run more than one venue from one account.
- Each location has its own hours, spaces, card readers and stock.
- Transfer stock between locations.
- Families, memberships and waivers are shared across your locations.
Security & privacy
Children’s information deserves more care than most software gives it.
- Care profiles encrypted at rest, with every staff view written to an audit log.
- Each venue’s data is isolated at the database level, not only in application code.
- Staff sign in with passkeys, with two-factor authentication available.
- Payments are handled by Stripe; card numbers never touch Jumpstead.
Hardware
Runs in the browser on the iPad you already have. Nothing to install, no app store updates to break it.
- iPad (or any modern browser) at the counter, added to the home screen.
- Stripe smart readers: WisePOS E or S700.
- Any USB or Bluetooth scanner that types like a keyboard, or just the iPad camera.
- A USB NFC reader for fobs, a label printer for keychains, and an optional network receipt printer.
See it on a real counter.
We’ll walk a family from the door to playing on a live demo, book a party, run a class roll call, then answer everything else.
